□ Meeting with Clerics of Other Religions, 9:00 AM

 

Pope Francis meets with 12 clerics of other religions at the Main Hall, 1st floor of Culture Hall at Myungdong Cathedral, at 9:00AM. No formal speech is planed; meeting with and greeting the leadership group of other religions and photo sessions are expected. Participants includeMost Vrn. Jaseung, President of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism; Ven. NamgungSeong, Director General of Won-Buddhism; Mr. Seo Jung-ki, President of Sung Kyun Kwan Association of Confucianism in Korea; Mr. Park Nam-soo, Supreme Leader of Chongdogyo; Mr. Han Yang-won, President of the Association for Native Korean Religions; Reb. Kim Young-Ju, General Secretary of the National Council of Churches in Korea (NCCK); Most Rev. Paul Kim Geun-sang, Primate of the Anglican Church of Korea, Mr. PARK Jong-deok, Commander of the Salvation Army Korea Territory, Rev. Dr. KIM Chul-hwan, President of the Lutheran Church in Korea (LCK), Rev. Dr. KIM Dong-yup, President of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (PCK) will attend. (Archbishop Hyginus KIM Hee-joong, the President of the Committee for Promoting Christian Unity & Interreligious Dialogue of CBCK,will be representing theCatholic Church.)

 

□ ​Mass for Peace and Reconciliation, 9:45 AM

 

The entrance parade starts at 9:45 AM from the yard outside the Myeogdong Cathedral. The Pope enters the last. This Mass is to pray for the peace and reconciliation in Korean peninsula and the world; approx. 1,000 people who are in need of or are working for peace and reconciliation and approx. 700 staff working for the Church parishes in 16 Dioceses around the country have been invited. The Pope will console the victims of “comfort women” (7 including KIM Goon-ja, KANG Il-chool, Lee Yong-soo, KIL Won-ok, KIM Yang-joo, KIM Bok-seon), North Korean settlers (5), Families of the people abducted to North Korea (5), local people from Milyang Gang-jeong Village, laid-off workers of Ssang-yongMotor Company, and the more; the Pope will also encourage the representatives of middle school and high school students and families. Through this Mass, H.E. Cardinal YEOM Soo-jung Andrew, who is also assuming theApost. Adm. of Pyongyang Dioceses, will present the “Crown of Thorns” which is made with a part of the wire-fence from the Military Demarcation Line and “Our Lady of Fatima” at the 1st floor of Culture Hall at Myeongdong Cathedral, and will offer these to the Pope. □ ​Departure Ceremony at the Airport, 12:45 PM

 

As the last official schedule, there will be “Ceremony of Departure at the Airport” at Seoul Airport, 12:45 PM. The ceremony will be minimized to honor guards and the presence of key representatives without any official event.Representatives of different sectors, including the Prime Minister Cheong Hong-won and Apostolic Nunciao, will attend the ceremony. Bishop KANG U-il and Cardinal YEOM Soo-jung, H.E.Msgr. Savio HON Tai-Fai, S.D.B. (Secretary of Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples), Archbishop YOON Gong-hee, Archbishop CHOI Cahng-moo, Archbishop KIM Hee-joong, Bishop Lee Byung-ho, Bishop Chang Ik, Bishop CHOI Ki-san, Bishop LEE Han-taek , Biship LEE Yong-hoon, Bishop YOO Heung-sik, Bishop CHO Kyu-man, Bishop Cheong Shin-cheol, Bishop LEE Seong-hyo attends the ceremony from the Korean Catholic Church. The Pope departs to Rome by Korea Air at 1:00 PM.
